If you have recently become engaged, I extend my warmest congratulations and Thank You for your interest in Cakes by Kels! I am proud to offer a very personal and consultative service to ensure your wedding cake is a proud memory that lasts a lifetime.

I understand that taking time to explore your dream cake is the most exciting part of the creative process. It’s a great opportunity to find the perfect combination of design and flavours to complement your wedding theme. From your initial consultation to the moment you slice into your beautiful wedding cake, I will work with you to perfect every last detail.

Step 1

A professional yet informal consultation and cake tasting is the first step to plan and conceptualise your wedding cake vision.

Lasting approximately 1 hour, we will discuss cake flavours, wedding cake styles, possible designs, colour schemes, hire, delivery and set up. Please feel free to bring along any pictures, colour swatches, ideas on flowers or mood boards you have put together.

*The cost for the consultation is £15.00 non-returnable per couple which will be deducted from the cost of the cake if booked.

Step 2

After your consultation, Kels will provide you with a quotation and a detailed summary of your consultation which will include pictures/sketches of your design to ensure all important details were captured and understood.

*To secure our limited availability, we request booking with plenty of notice.

Step 3

After placing your order, Kels will continue to work with you to perfect every detail of your cake allowing for minor design amendments up to six weeks prior to the wedding date.

The remaining balance of your cake is to be paid in full, one month prior to your wedding day. At this time Kels will review the details and guest numbers with you, to ensure everything is to your satisfaction before making arrangements to securely deliver and display your handcrafted cake for your big day.

DO YOU CATER TO PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES & INTOLERANCES?

We can provide delicious gluten-free options for your special celebration. Whilst we work hard to create a special cake to your specific requirements, Cakes by Kels must inform customers that we work in a kitchen where nuts are stored, and therefore cannot guarantee our products are ‘nut-free’.

YOUR WEDDING BUDGET

We know that weddings can end up costing more than expected so we’ve structured our prices around a ‘base cake’ cost. There will always be a ‘base’ cost for a simple iced cake, and we will then provide you with a quotation for the extra cost of the decoration of your choice. We can also make suggestions regarding decoration and extras to help you keep within budget.

How much do your wedding cakes cost?

All custom-made cakes are priced individually. The final price varies from cake to cake depending on the complexity of the design. We are happy to work within your event budget and will provide a quotation in writing before you commit to purchase.
Do you make biscuit favours?

On request, we have done in the past and would be happy to go through any ideas with you.
How do I book?

A £100 non-refundable deposit is required to book your wedding cake. This reserves your wedding cake in the diary and will be deducted from your cake balance.
Can I collect my wedding cake?

Unfortunately not. Kels will deliver your cake directly to your venue ensuring the setup of your is exactly as promised.
How should we prepare for our consultation?

Start by looking at some images online. Search Google, Pinterest and #wedding cake on Instagram. Save the pictures that most appeal to you. Find colour swatches from ribbon, magazines and fabric to bring along with you.
Where is the consultation held?

Your consultation can be held in the comfort of your own home or at a venue convenient for both parties.
How do I pay?

We accept bank transfer, cash or PayPal. When ordering, please tell us about your payment preference and we will send you all the necessary details.
How far in advance can I book my wedding cake?

Wedding cakes can be booked up to one year in advance. If you have a last minute request however, we will always try to make it work for you if possible.
